Suriya and Trisha Krishnan-starrer Karuppu, the fantasy-action drama directed by RJ Balaji, has successfully completed 25 days in theatres and continues to draw strong crowds across Tamil Nadu and other regions.
The film, which hit screens on May 15, has crossed the 300-304 crore mark worldwide. This includes approximately 223-224 crore in India gross and 80-81 crore overseas, making it Suriya’s highest-grossing film ever and the biggest Tamil grosser of 2026 so far.
On Day 25, the movie collected around 0.53 crore net in India across limited shows, demonstrating remarkable holding power even in its fourth week. Housefull screenings and fan celebrations marked the silver jubilee milestone in many centres, with special 25-day events organised by theatres and fan clubs.
Blending courtroom drama with divine action elements, Karuppu follows Suriya in a dual role as a lawyer possessed by the deity Vettai Karuppu, fighting corruption and injustice. The strong word-of-mouth, powerful performances, and mass appeal have turned it into a theatrical phenomenon, bringing audiences back to cinemas in a big way.
The film is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on June 12 in Tamil and dubbed versions across multiple languages.
