Silambarasan Turns Producer with STR 50

03 Feb 2025

Actor Silambarasan, popularly known as STR, celebrated his birthday on February 3 with a major announcement. The actor revealed he is stepping into a new role as a producer with his own banner, Atman Cine Arts, and unveiled his 50th project, *STR 50*.

The film will be directed by Desingh Periyasamy, marking a collaboration between the two after their earlier project under Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International failed to materialize.

Originally announced as *STR 48* under Kamal Haasan’s banner, the project was shelved due to delays. However, Silambarasan has now revived it under his own production house, renaming it *STR 50*.

The actor expressed his excitement on social media, stating, “I’m excited to share that I’m stepping into a new journey as a producer with @Atman_cinearts. There’s no better way to begin this, than with my 50th film, a dream project for both me and @desingh_dp. We are pouring our hearts into this! Excited for this new venture and truly hoping for all your love and support as always.”

Adding to the excitement, acclaimed music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja has been roped in to score the music for STR 50. Yuvan, a long-time collaborator of Silambarasan, has delivered numerous chart-topping soundtracks for the actor’s films, making their reunion highly anticipated. The combination of Yuvan’s musical brilliance and Desingh Periyasamy’s directorial vision is expected to elevate STR 50 to new heights.

Alongside the announcement, Silambarasan shared the first look poster of *STR 50*, generating buzz among fans. Meanwhile, the actor’s 49th project, *STR 49*, was also announced earlier today. Produced by Dawn Pictures and directed by Ramkumar Balakrishnan, the film adds to the actor’s busy slate.

With *STR 50*, Silambarasan embarks on a new chapter as a producer, promising a heartfelt and ambitious project for his milestone 50th film. Fans eagerly await further updates on both *STR 49* and *STR 50*.
