Actor and director Pradeep Ranganathan continues to make waves in Tamil cinema, effortlessly balancing his roles both in front of and behind the camera.

After delivering back-to-back hits as a director with Comali and Love Today, Pradeep is now focusing on his acting career, starring in multiple projects under the direction of other filmmakers.

His upcoming film, Dragon, directed by Ashwath Marimuthu, is one of the most anticipated releases of the year. The film is set to hit theaters on February 21, and the trailer was officially launched yesterday (February 10) at a grand event in Chennai.

The trailer launch was followed by a press meet, where Pradeep Ranganathan, director Ashwath Marimuthu, and producer Archana Kalpathi interacted with the media and shared insights about the film.

One of the key highlights of the press meet was Pradeep’s response to questions about Dragon clashing with Dhanush’s directorial venture, Nilavukku En Mel Ennadi Kobam, which is also releasing on February 21. Pradeep clarified that the release of Dragon was delayed due to the release of Ajith Kumar’s Vidaamuyarchi, which might have also impacted Dhanush’s film’s schedule. He emphasized that he does not view the clash as a competition, stating, “Both films explore themes of love and are unique in their own ways. I believe there’s enough room for both films to succeed and entertain the audience.”

Director Ashwath Marimuthu, who previously won hearts with Oh My Kadavule, shared exciting details about Dragon. He revealed that the trailer only showcases10% of the film, hinting at numerous surprises in store for the audience. “Dragon is not just a love story; it also addresses social issues and offers a thrilling cinematic experience. We’ve worked hard to ensure that the film resonates with everyone,” he said.

Ashwath also admitted that directing Dragon was a significant challenge, especially after Pradeep’s massive success with Love Today, which entered the coveted ₹100 crore club. “Pradeep is a phenomenal talent, and working with him has been a rewarding experience. I’m confident that Dragon will live up to the audience’s expectations,” he added.

Pradeep Ranganathan, who has quickly become one of the most bankable stars in Tamil cinema, spoke about his journey and the challenges of balancing acting and directing. “I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve received, and I’m excited to explore new roles as an actor. Dragon is a special film for me, and I hope the audience enjoys it as much as we enjoyed making it,” he said.

Pradeep also expressed his gratitude to the producers, AGS Entertainment, for their unwavering support. “Archana ma’am and the entire AGS team have been incredible. They’ve given us the freedom to tell this story the way we envisioned it,” he added.

Dragon features a talented ensemble cast, including Anupama Parameswaran, Kayadu Lohar, Sneha, and VJ Sethu, who bring depth and diversity to the narrative. The film’s music, composed by Leon James, has already struck a chord with the audience, with its songs topping the charts.

With the release date just around the corner, the Dragon team is leaving no stone unturned in their promotional efforts. The film is expected to be a perfect blend of emotion, social commentary, and entertainment, making it a must-watch for moviegoers.

As Pradeep Ranganathan continues to rise as a versatile actor and director, all eyes are on Dragon to see if it will replicate the success of his previous ventures. With its engaging trailer, talented team, and compelling storyline, Dragon is all set to soar high at the box office.
