DC is a 2026 Tamil romantic action thriller directed by Arun Matheswaran and produced by Sun Pictures. He crosses paths with Chandra (Wamiqa Gabbi), a sex worker hardened by years of exploitation, and the two form an unlikely alliance while seeking revenge and survival.
Lokesh delivers a restrained, assured performance. He conveys simmering rage and trauma with minimal dialogue or big emotional outbursts, which many critics found surprisingly effective for a first-time lead. Wamiqa Gabbi brings intensity and vulnerability to Chandra, making her the emotional anchor for several viewers. Sanjana Krishnamoorthy makes a strong impression in limited screen time.
Arun Matheswaran’s direction leans into stylish, brutal action set pieces and a gritty visual style (cinematography by Mukesh G stands out). The film is packed with blood, shootouts and high-energy sequences that feel carefully choreographed rather than purely gratuitous. Anirudh’s score is widely regarded as one of the film’s biggest strengths—raw, classical-tinged tracks and pulsating background music that elevate many scenes and stay with you after the credits.
Not every critic was fully convinced.
