Just now, the makers have dropped the official announcement video confirming that legendary composer Ilaiyaraaja will score the music for director Mari Selvaraj’s next film, Manjanathi.
The video, released by Think Music, features the maestro and has sent Tamil cinema fans into celebration mode. This marks their much-awaited first-ever collaboration.
The film is Mari Selvaraj’s sixth directorial after Pariyerum Perumal, Karnan, Maamannan, Vaazhai, and Bison Kaalamaadan. It is produced by his wife Divya under Navvi Studios. The title Manjanathi is inspired by a special tree from the director’s childhood village, where elders used to gather and share stories.
Strong rumours continue that Manjanathi could be a spiritual sequel to his recent hit Vaazhai, possibly continuing the story of Sivanainthan in his teenage and youth years. No cast or release date has been announced yet, but the dream pairing of Mari Selvaraj’s powerful storytelling with Ilaiyaraaja’s timeless music has already created massive buzz.
